Road Sealing Project Update.

Currently, we are at the mercy of product availability and the resurfacing of places people keep driving over before it is dry. No activity scheduled for Tuesday. As soon as the product is available the other lane will get sprayed which then we will put out parking information. The speed bumps were painted on the completed lane today. They should dry over night. The goal is to complete sealing of the other lane. Plan on alternate parking if you are on the outside lane that is yet to be sealed. Signs will be placed indicating direction of travel and other beneficial information.

Hello Treasure Island Residents.

We just were notified today that the paving company will be starting work on the Treasure Island roads as early as tomorrow.

They will begin with at least one day of sweeping and brushing all the roads to get the debris off and to clear vegetation away from the road edges.   This work should not cause anything other than perhaps minor delays to get around the sweeper trucks.

This work will be followed up with some patching and crack filling before the final seal coating is done to all the roads.   Once we receive the seal coating schedule and plan, we will communicate that information to all residents so that adequate preparation can be made to park vehicles elsewhere if needed.   The seal coating will be done in sections so as to disrupt traffic and access as little as possible, but they may be starting this by the end of this week, so we wanted to get the word out.

Please be aware that the newly seal coated areas cannot be driven on by vehicles, bicycles, golf carts etc, for at least 24 hours so it has time to cure.

Please pass the word to any contractors that you may have working at your property that access may be limited for a couple of days.

If postal delivery or garbage  pickup will be affected, we will work with those services for an alternative process and/or will see if an alternate pickup day can be arranged.

We ask for everyone's cooperation and patience as we work through this important project.   Please check your email often for updates which will be sent out as we get them.

Thank you!

Summer is here, 4th of July is around the corner, and the island will see a huge influx of people enjoying friends and family and our beautiful island.

  • Regarding our beautiful island, a couple of announcements;

  • Garbage, please make sure your garbage containers are shut tight and no bags hanging out or on the ground next to the containers longer then the day of pick up. We’ve had some issues when garbage is left from Sunday to Thursday and the crows have a picnic spreading the garbage. Clean up your fireworks or any debris that is on the road and any garbage or debris in the common areas (beach and dock). DO NOT leave trash on the island roads.

  • Golf cart drivers must be 16 years old with a drivers license or accompanied by an adult with a drivers license.  This is a state law and addressed in our Rules and Regs.  Law enforcement has full jurisdiction on the island to enforce the law.  If you see someone driving a golf cart who is underage or appears to be underage and you know where they live contact the sheriff using the non emergency number listed on TICC Web site front page under About then under Emergency Services.

  • Please take the time to go over our Rules and Regs, its easy to find and will answer a lot of your questions.

  • Stolen property reported in Grapeview and Allyn, four boats.  Be aware if you leave your boat out or anchored.  If you see anything call the Non Emergency number and ask for an area check. See the Notices page for additional details.

  • The board members do not police the island. We run the business and financial needs for the association, which includes making sure members know what the rules are by pointing you in the right direction. Still we are glad to direct members where to go for help with anything that requires law enforcement.  We do want to know of safety issues and problems on the island, we can’t police the area but like any member, can call law enforcement.

  • Lastly, each island member is responsible for their guests and their guests behavior.  Inform them about parking, speed limits, boat dock no diving jumping or swimming, because of boat activity,  beach common area needs member present with guests, private beaches no clamming, no diving off the bridge no fishing off the bridge.

  • We have sheriff patrols on the 3rd & 4th.

Wow, the bridge is looking great!

This past weekend (4/27–4/28) Ken Sanberg coordinated to have the bridge power washed by Hood Canal Painting & Pressure Washing.  In preparation, Rex Wallingford did a fantastic job of blowing off the bridge full of debris, and then it took two days to power wash the bridge and public dock area.  In the meantime, Bill and Barbara McFarland cleaned up and planted the flower boxes.  It is such a delight to come to Treasure Island and see all of this progress!  Thank you so much for all who helped these past two days– it looks fantastic!

Inside Fire Lanes

Please, when driving on the inside fire lanes be careful when turning not to drive over the rock gardens. The rock gardens are getting damaged.

Saturday, 22 April 2018

The last board meeting was held on a rescheduled Wednesday evening but it didn't slow down this crew. If you haven't seen the minutes, please take a minute and review them because there's a LOT going on! Some of the highlights were:

-The bridge will be blown and pressure washed in the very near future (hopefully this week).

-Pat Richmond and Nancy Bensen have been busy cleaning up the public beach area.

-Did you know that our fire hydrants are considered vintage now but rest assured we're in good hands with Mason County. They have two water tank trucks (which is a new development) and that might be worth knowing because you might get a price reduction on your homeowners insurance.

-Our water is tested monthly. More extensive tests are conducted throughout the year.

-We need a volunteer or small committee for the 4th of July parade.

-Mark your calendar for the Annual Board Meeting followed by a community picnic on Saturday, July 7th. More details will follow.

There was a lot more information that can be found in the minutes. This group is really working hard to finish up old business and keep moving forward with new projects and business on a very tight budget. Stay tuned!

2017 Car Show Results

The Treasure Island car show took place today with 15 cars, trucks, and motorcycles entered. The show, held annually on July 4th, is now in its sixth year.

The overall People’s Choice winner was Sam Vetter's black 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. Sam's 4-door hardtop has been in the show before and always does well. This is the second time it took home the first place trophy.

Finishing second was John Denzler’s 1965 Chevrolet El Camino, a first-time entry. Not to be confused with Burt Straight's clean-looking red 1966 El Camino, John's gorgeous truck is white.

The third place trophy went to a blue 1966 Chevelle owned by Ray Lychlama, giving Chevy a sweep of the top three awards.

Trophies for the next three places were awarded as follows:

  • 4. Dennis Legas, red-and-white 1957 Chevrolet Nomad

  • 5. Doug & Mary Casady, blue 1966 Mustang convertible

  • 6. Todd Scoles, 1967 red Chevrolet Chevelle

A note of thanks to all owners who entered a vehicle in the show and to Islanders and their guests who stopped by to cast a ballot for their favorite entry. (7/4/17)

2017 Treasure Island Fun Run Results

Thank you SO much to everyone who participated in the 15th Annual Treasure Island Fun Run on July 2nd. It was a perfect day, and we're grateful to everyone who signed up and donated for this great fundraiser benefiting the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center!

It looks like we will be making a donation of $3,000 to Fred Hutch, bringing the 15-year total to over $56,700 - wow! The results (see link above) are "unofficial." They are incomplete as we know that a handful of participants took home their bib tab with their race time written on it.

I'm excited to announce that the Hansen Family is stepping up to take over operations of the run in 2018, with the help of the Flett Family! I'm so thrilled that this fun island tradition will continue! I owe a HUGE thanks to Brett Ross and the entire Ross Family for their volunteerism and support over the last few years, and to Julie Johnson for her steadfast help!

Thank you again to ALL participants, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and road-side cheerleaders who helped make the 2017 Treasure Island Fun Run a success!
